Before dawn yesterday a triaxle truck rollover on PA 879 turned a rescue mission into a high-voltage hazard for local crews. Dispatched to Covington Township in Clearfield County just before 4 a.m., local firefighters arrived to find the driver trapped inside a cab entangled in live electrical wires. The crash snapped a utility pole, draping high-voltage lines across the highway, the guardrail, and the vehicle itself, significantly complicating extraction efforts. Crews secured the area but had to wait for a remote power shutoff before they could carefully pull the driver from the triaxle’s cab. The driver was taken to a local trauma center. The extent of his injuries it unknown at this time. An investigation is underway. Above photo provided by Morris Township Volunteer Fire Company.
