A 39-year-old Bedford County man, Micah Dwyer of Artemas, is in custody following a months-long investigation into a reported sexual assault during an ATV ride. State police allege Dwyer raped a female victim in a wooded area of Mann Township last August. According to the affidavit of probable cause, the victim reported that Dwyer brandished a sheath knife and demanded sexual favors. After she refused, Dwyer allegedly remarked that she was “old enough now” before assaulting her. While Dwyer reportedly did not use the knife to threaten her directly, investigators state he warned the victim not to disclose the incident to anyone. The victim later told authorities that Dwyer had also molested her in 2016 and 2022. Dwyer is facing charges that include rape threat of forcible compulsion, incest, and other related counts. He has been placed in the Bedford County Prison where bail has been set at $500,000. He is to face a preliminary hearing on February 25th.
