Kongsberg Defense and Aerospace, Inc. has officially expanded its operations in Johnstown, with the grand opening of a new $10-million assembly line on Friday. The expansion in Richland Township is expected to bring 20 new jobs to the area immediately. The facility will manufacture medium-caliber remote turret systems (cannons) for the ACV-30, an amphibious land-to-sea combat vehicle utilized by the Marines. The Johnstown site remains Kongsberg’s largest manufacturing facility outside of Norway.
