The Cambria Heights School District has agreed to pay $1.3 million to settle a federal lawsuit alleging it failed to act on an illegal sexual relationship between a former teacher, Isaac Vescovi, and a student. According to WJAC News the agreement allocates these payments to compensate the plaintiff for physical and emotional harm caused by sexual abuse during her childhood. The legal action arose from claims that the Cambria Heights School District was aware of an illicit sexual relationship between former teacher Issac Vescovi and a student, but neglected to take action. Vescovi faced criminal charges and began serving a jail sentence last May.
