Shapiro Continues To Decline Whether He’d Back Fetterman

As of now, the political rift between Pennsylvania’s top Democrats continues to widen as Governor Josh Shapiro once again withheld an endorsement for Senator John Fetterman’s potential reelection bid.  During an ABC “This Week” interview, Shapiro characterized his relationship with Fetterman as “constructive” but refused to commit to supporting him for a second term, stating he would wait until Fetterman officially decides to run.  The tension is mutual, as Senator Fetterman has similarly declined to commit his support for Shapiro’s own reelection campaign.  The friction reportedly dates back to their overlapping tenure on Pennsylvania’s Board of Pardons, where they frequently clashed over criminal justice issues.
