A fatal multi-vehicle accident on Interstate-99 early Saturday morning claimed the life of a 23-year-old Altoona man. Emergency crews responded to the scene near mile marker 54 in Snyder Township around 4:00 a.m., following reports of a crash. Reportedly Andrew Wolford’s car became disabled in the right lane after striking a guard rail. A southbound Honda Civic struck the stationary car while Wolford was reportedly walking across the interstate. The impact pushed Wolford’s car into a truck, which was then forced into the left lane. Blair County Coroner Ray Benton determined Wolford died of blunt force injuries sustained during the secondary collision. State police continue to investigate the crash.
