Homegrown Rocker March 2026 Schedule

Here’s a listing of what will be happening on the “Homegrown Rocker” during March. Catch the program every Sunday night from 8 to 10 p.m. on Q94 Classic Rock (www.q94classicrock.com), from 10 p.m. to midnight on 107.1 and 101.3 Jack FM (www.1071jack.fm), and via podcast after the show airs on Q94’s website (in “The Professor’s Classroom”).

MARCH 1 – A Visit to the Mailboxes: We start off March with more new music, as we visit the program’s mailboxes to unveil new recordings we have received in recent weeks! Hear new songs from the G.E. Long Band, Central PA Youth All Star Band, Ken Werner, Chris Rattie & the New Rebels, The Mandibles, Gonto, Dead Way and more!

MARCH 8 – 28th Anniversary Special: It was exactly 28 years ago – on March 8, 1998 – that radio listeners in central PA started hearing a new local music radio program, as the “Backyard Rocker” debuted as a one-hour program on Q94 Classic Rock. The show would expand to two hours a year later, and eventually changed its handle to the “Homegrown Rocker.” We celebrate 28 years of “Homegrown Rocker” this week by airing special moments from the program’s history, and spotlighting some of the many bands and artists who have performed music live on the program!

MARCH 15 – St. Paddy’s Special: With St. Patrick’s Day season upon us, the “Homegrown Rocker” celebrates by spotlighting area bands and artists with a wee bit of the Irish and Celtic in their sound! We’ll feature music from such bands as Full Kilt, Tree the Band, the Kilmaine Saints, Bastard Bearded Irishmen, The Irish Pretenders, Lucky Lad Green, Barleyjuice, Celtic Wood and Wires and more!

MARCH 22 – Back to the Mailboxes: We’ll continue to check the show’s mailboxes and hear from more new local and regional music recordings that have arrived recently! New songs will again be the focus of this week’s program!

MARCH 29 – Norman Nardini/Diamond Reo: The “Uncrowned King of Pittsburgh Rock and Roll,” Norman Nardini joins us on the phone for the first time in several years. Norman will update us on his latest happenings, and also discuss “The Diamonds,” a recently-issued album featuring unreleased demo and produced songs from 1978-79 by his 1970s rock band Diamond Reo, who disbanded before these songs ever saw the light of day!
