Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday says his office will continue pursing legal action against Live Nation Entertainment despite a settlement with the federal government announced yesterday. The Department of Justice said Live Nation agreed to pay up to 280-million-dollars to settle a lawsuit filed by more than two-dozen states which alleged the company created an illegal monopoly when they merged with Ticketmaster in 2010. Sunday said he believes the settlement falls far short of protecting consumers as Ticketmaster drove up prices and fees while limiting choices for fans, artists, and venues. The lawsuit seeks to order Live Nation’s divestment from Ticketmaster along with financial compensation for customers who paid more for tickets than they should have in a competitive market.
