Altoona Man Accused Of Threatening Woman On Social Media

A 25-year-old Altoona man is behind bars without bail following a series of disturbing allegations involving death threats and social media harassment.  Altoona Police identified the man has Hasan Gaines.  Gaines allegedly sent multiple threatening messages to a woman on Instagram.  When she blocked him, he then reportedly pivoted to harassing her mother, and warning the family that he intended to kill the victim.  Police report the situation escalated further when Gaines allegedly sent the victim’s mother an explicit video of the victim, which appeared to have been recorded when the victim was a minor.  Gaines is facing numerous charges that include felony dissemination of sex abuse material, terroristic threats, and other related counts.  Gaines is to face a preliminary hearing on March 18^th.
