Pennsylvania State Police in Clearfield have charged 36-year-old Nicholas Johnston of DuBois following an investigation into the possession and distribution of illegal child exploitation material. Digital evidence linked to a phone number and former residence was used to connect Johnston to the cloud-based storage of illicit materials. Authorities allege Johnston uploaded nearly 300 illicit images and videos many depicting the abuse of infants and toddlers. Johnston was previously convicted of similar offenses in 2015. He is facing nearly 300 counts of felony dissemination of child sex abuse material and other related counts. Court dockets show that a preliminary arraignment for Johnston is pending.
