Markwayne Mullin is one step closer to becoming the next head of Homeland Security thanks to Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman. Fetterman voted with seven Republicans on the Senate Homeland Committee yesterday to advance Mullin’s nomination on an eight to seven vote. Kentucky Senator Rand Paul joined Democrats in voting no after accusing Mullin of having “anger issues.” Mullin’s nomination will now head to the full Senate where he will need a simple majority to be confirmed.
