Good news for local trail enthusiasts, the Alfarata trailhead of the Lower Trail near Alexandria is expected to reopen by April 7 following temporary closures for the FirstEnergy Warrior Ridge Rebuild Project. According to officials with Penelec, work on this 0.7-mile section was slightly delayed by storms, but is expected to be completed shortly. Simultaneously, repairs on the Dilling Bridge, near mile markers 9 and 10, closed since August, are progressing with a target reopening in June or July.
