An Altoona man, identified as 23-year-old Derrick Ball, has been jailed after allegedly firing a handgun inside a Philipsburg residence while hallucinating under the influence of DMT. Authorities say Ball confessed to shooting in self-defense against imaginary threats, and was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine upon his arrest. Ball has been charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, and reckless endangerment. He has been placed in the Centre County Prison in lieu of bail. He is to face a preliminary hearing on April 8th.
