Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is joining a coalition of more than 20 Democratic-led states in a lawsuit against the Trump administration over an executive order restricting voter eligibility and mail in voting. It comes after President Trump’s directive to the U.S. Postal Service to only send ballots to eligible voters on a DHS-provided list. The lawsuit argues it is unconstitutional for the president to impose changes to federal election procedures without the permission of Congress. Shapiro called Trump’s order an “attack on states’ rights and the right to vote for all Pennsylvanians.”
