A man currently incarcerated at SCI Pine Grove, has been charged with the 2022 rape of a child in Altoona following a forensic interview in which the victim alleged the sexual assault. He’s been identified as 31-year-old Devine Stephen-Andre Edwards. The victim reportedly told Altoona Police that she was too afraid to report the abuse at the time, alleging Edwards threatened her mother with a firearm. Edwards denied the allegations during a police interview in October 2025, claiming the charges were fabricated. Edwards is facing charges that include rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, and other related counts. Edwards is currently in SCI Pine Grove after he pled guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in 2023 in Johnstown.
