Johnstown fire crews successfully rescued a dog stranded on the Stonycreek River Wall yesterday, employing a rope system to secure the animal now named “River.” While initially frightened, she was safely rescued and transported to Forest Hills Veterinary for a checkup, having sustained only minor scratches. Crews were unclear where the dog came from but reportedly seems to have been well taken care of. (Photo provided by Johnstown Firefighters Local 463.)
