Delays Expected Tomorrow On Major Centre Co., Road

penndot-4

Motorists planning to use Route 322 in Centre County tomorrow should prepare for mid-morning delays as crews deliver heavy equipment to a local electrical substation.  The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that traffic in both directions will be halted for approximately 15 to 20 minutes.  The stoppage will occur near the intersection of Route 322 and East Pine Street to facilitate a FirstEnergy delivery at the substation located at 1321 East Pine Street in Philipsburg.   While an exact arrival time cannot be guaranteed, officials expect the disruption to take place sometime between 9 a.m. and noon.  Flaggers will be stationed at the intersections of Pine and Ninth Streets to manage the closure.  With more than 8,700 vehicles traveling this stretch of Route 322 daily, PennDOT is advising local drivers to seek alternate routes to avoid potential congestion.
