Traffic crash fatalities in Pennsylvania hit a historic low last year. According to Penn-DOT, there were 1,047 traffic-related deaths in the Commonwealth in 2025, which is the second-lowest number since they started keeping track in 1928. The only year with a lower number of deaths was 2020, when there were significantly less vehicles on the roads due to the pandemic. Penn-DOT says DUI crashes fell last year as well by more than 80.
