State health officials are reporting almost a dozen cases of measles in Lebanon County. The Pennsylvania Department of Health says eleven measles cases have been confirmed in the county so far this year, with three patients needing to be hospitalized. The Health Department noted ten of the patients were unvaccinated, and they were unable to verify the other patient’s vaccination status. Health Secretary Dr. Debra Bogen is encouraging unvaccinated Pennsylvanians to get the measles vaccine, saying that it protects yourself, your family, and your community.
