A 33-year-old Williamsburg woman, identified as Katie Leonard has been arrested on multiple felony charges of animal cruelty after police say she instructed a 17-year-old boy to kill her dog named Bailey, in March, following the death of a puppy in her care. According to state police, the teen attempted to break the dog’s neck before beating it with a metal baseball bat, while a deceased puppy was later discovered in a box in the backyard. Leonard is currently held on $50,000 bail in Blair County Prison following an investigation that revealed the surviving dog suffered severe head trauma and malnutrition, with treatment delayed by the suspect. Baily, who is a 3-year-old Pitbull, was taken to the Central PA Humane Society and is reportedly in foster care, and recovering well. (Above photo provided by Central PA Humane Society.)
