WTAJ reports that police arrested 28 year old Jaleel Shakir Peterson after several people called 911 to alert police that Peterson was pushing a child in a stroller through the center of traffic along 6th avenue. Police reported that Peterson was pushing the child in the stroller then racing up to catch her while they walked on the street. He was detained by police at a tobacco store, then Peterson took of running, leaving the 2 year old alone at the store. He was caught after a brief foot chase. He reportedly told officers that he had snorted drugs. Peterson is charged with child endangerment, reckless endangerment, possession and use of drugs, and public drunkeness.
