
A report in the Altoona Mirror indicates that Judge Wade Kagarise sentenced 40 year old Dena Jo Pacifico to spend 6 months in house arrest to begin a 7 year term of probation. Pacifico was accused of several drug crimes related to her nursing duties. Pacifico was accused of stealing drugs at her workplace, when an investigation revealed an empty package of Oxycodone, which Pacifico admitted she took to help her sleep. D.A. Pete weeks asked for a sentence of 18 months to 5 years behind bars for neglecting and deceiving her patients needs. Her attorney argued for probation for what amounted to 8 pills that were allegedly stolen. Pacifico told the judge she is working very hard not to return to a courtroom in the future.
