WTAJ reports that PennDot has announced that work will begin on the Cresson Summit interchange of rt. 22 beginning this Monday. Penndot says that the eastbound lanes will be closed, and to go with that closing, there will be a 4 mile detour in place. Also, the ramps towards 22 to Ebensburg will be closed. The detour will take vehicles to state route 4001 at the Gallitzin interchange. Grannas Brothers of Hollidaysburg will do the work, which will cost $7.3 million. The work consists of changing out the current road surface and sub base. The project is expected to be completed by late November
