Television news reports indicate that educators in Cambria County rallied yesterday to denounce the candidacy of Mastriano for Governor. The state Education Association held a press conference, telling that Mastriano is planning to cut public school funding by $12 billion annually. The PSEA said that if Mastriano is elected and goes ahead with this plan, it will force public schools across the state to cut back and would create layoffs. Mastriano on his website refuted the claim, saying he would maintain funding for schools, while at the same time create an opportunity to allow parents to have school choice, which would be public, private or home schooling.
