News reports indicate that Altoona attorney Tom Forr has requested that votes in the 2nd ward 1st precinct be recounted by hand. Forr presented his argument in court that voter turnout was down more than 50% from the 2020 presidential election, and that a petition was filed to get the votes recounted by hand instead of using voting machines. Forr quoted numbers for this year being just 165 in the precinct, compared to 320 votes in 2020, with some 480 registered voters in the precinct. A Blair County judge will take up the matter and issue a ruling. Forr was quoted as saying that there is a lot of misplaced trust in the system. Precincts in 3 other counties are also undergoing audits.
