
News reports indicate that Peter Schwartz of Uniontown, Fayette County was convicted in U.S. District court yesterday for taking part in the January 6th melee. Schwartz and is wife were both in Washington on that day, and were charged with storming the capitol. Shelly Stalling pleaded guilty to charges back in August. Schwartz was accused of stealing a police issued duffel bag that contained numerous canisters of mace, and he reportedly handed them out to others at the rally. Schwatrz also bragged to another person about throwing a chair at capitol police which started an incident. Two other men were also convicted with Schwartz in this case. Sentencing is expected early next year.
