According to the Altoona Mirror, inmate Jesus Beltran has filed suit against the warden and three corrections officers at the county lockup for allegedly not providing masks to protect inmates against Covid 19. The suit claims that Beltran claims that another prisoner was brought back to a cell block with Covid 19. Beltran claims that he asked for a mask, but said the did not receive one because none were available. Beltran is seeking compensation for lack of medical attention, claiming his civil rights were violated. The case has been turned over to federal district magistrate Keith Pesto.
