WTAJ reports that firefighters were sent to the blaze along Dunnings highway just after 1 pm. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy flames coming from both the first and second floors and the rear and one side of the home. Duncansville fire chief told channel 10 that two dogs were lost in the fire, while two others were rescued. The flames were put out quickly by firefighters, but the house could not be saved, and was declared a total loss. A state police fire marshal will investigate to find a cause. There were no injuries. In all, 6 fire companies responded to the alarm.
