Blair County budget now in place

According to a report by the Altoona Mirror, after several months of work, the budget was passed yesterday, with spending set for $57.6 million. And the best news is that there is no property tax increase for homeowners. One issue that was not in the budget will now have to be addressed. That is where to house juvenile offenders in the criminal justice system. There is money in the budget for juvenile services, but the problem is state wide according to Blair County D.A. Pete weeks, and the state should take up the matter. In Blair County, a lack of beds is the problem, and now the commissioners will have to look to solve the problem.
