A report in the Altoona Mirror indicates that work will take place on Rt. 220 between the turnpike and I-99 around the Johnstown/Cessna exit. The work will include cable barrier installation. Penndot says that traffic in this area will be reduced to a single lane in both directions during the work day, but those lane restrictions will not be in effect during the overnight hours. Other work on the project spans the area between exit 3 and the Claysburg Sproul exit in Blair County, which will begin at another time, and is expected to be complete by July.
