A report out of Harrisburg states that Democrat Representative Mike Zabel of Delaware county has resigned from his seat amid allegations of sexual harassment. The report states that a woman claims Zabel sexually harassed her more than 4 years ago. The story has a more immediate angle. State representative Abby Major from Armstrong county also reported that Zabel had tried to lure up to a secluded area after he allegedly made unwanted sexual advances towards her last November. Zabel said that rather that put his family through a possible public scandal, it was best that he resign. His resignation will take effect march 16th. With this development, the house sits in favor of democrats by a margin of 101-100, because a another republican seat is up for grabs in may. And now a second seat will also likely be on the may ballot to fill Zabel’s chair.
