A story out yesterday details the pursuit of a lawsuit claiming MLB violated anti trust laws by cutting affiliated minor league baseball teams. In particular, the State College Spikes and Williamsport Crosscutters. Both teams were contracted by MLB several years ago, when it took over the operations of MILB. Now 17 states attorney generals say that this move violates anti trust laws. AG Michelle Henry says that MLB walked through a big loophole when it seized control of MILB, and took out 40 affiliated minor league teams, and she said if this happened in any other business it would have been ruled illegal.
