A Pennsylvania state Senate committee yesterday approved a bill that would ban drop boxes and satellite election offices where voters can turn in their mail-in ballots, rather than relying on the Post Office. The bill was approved by a 7-4 party-line vote. Many who support the ban believe drop-off sites and drop boxes are not secure and potentially allow for ballot stuffing. There’s no word yet when the proposed ban on ballot drop-offs might come to a vote in the full state Senate.
