Additional details that are coming out, in connection with the Trump assassination attempt, suggest that security officials may have been able to intervene. WPXI-TV cites anonymous sources who say members of the Beaver County ESU team, who were at the Butler rally on Saturday, spotted Thomas Crooks on a roof and took a photo of him nearly half an hour before the shooting happened. It is not clear whether Crooks was armed with a rifle at that time, according to the report. WPXI is also reporting that law enforcement took another photo of Crooks on the ground even earlier than the one of him on the roof, and called him in as a suspicious person. The FBI is investigating, and members of the Congressional Oversight and Homeland Security committees are planning to question Secret Service leaders over the security plans for the campaign event.
