The Pennsylvania billionaire nominated to be the next NASA Administrator is vowing to prioritize a mission to the moon. In a confirmation hearing yesterday, Jared Isaacman committed to maintaining the space agency’s Artemis mission through its upcoming 2026 voyage. This appeared to conflict with comments made by Trump ally and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who has prioritized expeditions to Mars over lunar missions. Isaacman didn’t rule out a Mars mission, but said he wouldn’t be influenced by Musk on NASA policy. Isaacman, the CEO of an Allentown-based payment processing company, and a commercial astrounaut, made history last year, by leading the first all-civilian spacewalk.
