Clean Up Continues After Region Hit By Storms

poles-downed

Crews with Penelec and first responders continue to clean-up in the area after heavy winds and rains hit the state on Tuesday.  Thousands are still without power at this hour, particularly in Centre County, where nearly 20,000 are still waiting for power.  Utility officials in Central and Western Pennsylvania say crews are working to assess the damage, and estimated times of restoration will be posted once that’s done.  Penelec says its crews are working as quickly as they can to restore power, but for some it may be several days before power is fully restored.  The fast moving storm caused four deaths in the state, along with damage to vehicles and power lines.  Governor Josh Shapiro said the volume of emergency calls during the storm was almost unprecedented.
