A Patton man will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars after he was sentenced for fatally shooting his wife last year. Seventy-year-old William Simmons was sentenced to serve 20-40 years in prison, after he pled guilty to third-degree murder in the shooting death of his 66-year-old wife Rebecca. Simmons was arrested last February following a domestic dispute in his home. At the time, police said Simmons admitted to shooting his wife, following an argument, because she reportedly was planning on leaving him.
