Seven Penn State Commonwealth Campuses, including Penn State DuBois in Clearfield County, are being recommended for closure. The university revealed the list yesterday after initially considering 12 of the smallest PSU campuses. The other campuses to close are located in Fayette, Mont Alto, New Kensington, Shenango, Wilkes-Barre, and York. The university is looking to close the campuses due to “enormous financial strain” caused by declining enrollment, rising costs, and stagnant funding.
