After two days of trial, the former athletic director at the Bellwood-Antis School District has been found not guilty in a sex abuse cover-up case. Yesterday in Blair County Court, it only took a jury an hour to find 53-year-old Charles Burch not guilty of felony witness intimidation. Burch had been accused of covering up sex crimes of the former wrestling coach Ryan Blazier, who is currently serving a lengthy prison sentence after being convicted of sexual assault of two student wrestlers in 2023. Reportedly, Burch’s attorney plans on initiating a civil suit on behalf of Burch against the state Attorney General’s office. Next in this case is the trial of former Bellwood-Antis head wrestling Coach Timothy Andrekovich which is scheduled for July 7th. He is facing child endangerment charges for allegedly failing to carry out a safety plan to prevent Blazier from being alone with the students.
