A Breezewood woman is facing charges after she allegedly refused medical treatment for her son. Forty-four year old Annessa Stahlman has been jailed on charges of child endangerment, and reckless endangerment after she allegedly ignored medical personnel who informed her that her 11-year-old child needed to go to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for medical evaluation. The child reportedly was suffering from a retroclival hematoma which occurs when blood collects at the base of the skull after trauma. Reportedly, the trauma occurred when the young boy was involved in an ATV crash on April 13th. State police noted the father of the child did not know about the boy’s diagnosis and said his child was in school when they contacted him. According to charges the boy was at school complaining of a headache and began to vomit. He was later flown from school, to Pittsburgh for medical treatment. Stahlman was arraigned and has been placed in the Bedford County Prison. Her bail has been set at $150,000.
