Gov. Shapiro Visits Flood Damaged Somerset County

gov-5

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro visited Somerset County yesterday to view images of damage that heavy rain and flooding caused several weeks ago.  Shapiro met with victims, local, and county officials.  Last week the governor requested disaster assistance loans from the Small Business Administration to aid victims.  This request prompted the SBA to set up a station at the Meyersdale Volunteer Fire Company.  Reportedly, businesses and homeowners can get loans up to $500,000  at low rates.  Shapiro told those he visited yesterday that once the majority of people recover from cleanup efforts, the next step will be to focus on flood prevention.
