A prison inmate at the Blair County lockup who tried to escape last week has been identified as David Ramos. Ramos, who was in prison on assault charges, was apprehended last Wednesday without incident, after a brief escape through the borough of Hollidaysburg. Ramos and other inmates were in a prison vehicle and when they arrived back to the prison from court hearing, he hid behind a back seat of the transport van while other inmates disembarked. He then escaped through a window in the van. He was nabbed about 20 minutes later after numerous witnesses saw Ramos running down a street in Hollidaysburg wearing his orange prison jumpsuit with handcuffs and leg shackles. He is being charged with escape and other related counts.
