A deal to merge Pittsburgh based U.S. Steel and Nippon Steel is being finalized. Under the agreement, U.S. Steel will keep its headquarters in Pittsburgh and more than 100-thousand jobs are expected to be created across the country. The agreement also states that Nippon Steel will invest eleven-billion-dollars in new investments in U.S. Steel by 2028. The deal ensures that the majority of U.S. Steel’s board of directors, including its CEO, will be American citizens.
