Cooling Centers Open In Area

According to the Altoona Firefighters Facebook page, a cooling center has been set up at the Altoona Salvation Army because of the extreme heat.  The Salvation Army is located at 1813 6^th Avenue, and will operate today through Wednesday.  Hours will be 10am-6pm.  Anyone in need of cooling and hydration is welcome.  Also offering their facilities as cooling centers are Blair Senior Services in Altoona, East Freedom, Tyrone, and Williamsburg from 8am-4pm, except in Williamsburg where the hours will  run from  9am-2pm.
