Bill To Rename Road After Late State Rep., Heads To Governor’s Desk

A bill to name a road in Blair County after the late state Representative Jerry Stern passed the State House of Representatives last week.   The idea behind the bill is to name Cove Mountain Road in Taylor and Woodbury Townships as the Representative Jerry A. Stern Memorial Highway.  Both Representative Scott Barger and  state Senator Judy Ward advocated the bill.  Stern served in the House from 1993-to-2014.  He passed away last December at his home in Martinsburg.  The bill will now go before Governor Josh Shapiro to be signed into law.
