The High Point Lake in Somerset County will undergo a partial drawdown which will allow for maintenance. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commissioner made the announcement on Friday. Reportedly, the water will be lowered over the next 3-4 weeks by about 12 inches. The partial drawdown will enable inspectors to take a look at seepage at the auxiliary spillway and dam embankment. The public will still be able to both boat and fish during the drawdown. In the meantime, a complete drawdown is expected next Spring to rehabilitate the dam embankment and spillway, and that project is expected to last for about 18 months.
