The Altoona Redevelopment Authority has bought nearly 18 acres of land in the Cricket Knoll neighborhood located off Juniata Gap Road. Reportedly, the purchase was made to install infrastructure to attract a developer to build 40-plus homes in that area. The authority bought the tract from S&A Homes in State College for $150,000. The authority hopes to have the infrastructure such as sidewalks, streets, sewer, electric, and gas lines completed next year. Under the city’s new comprehensive plan, more housing developments was one of its goals.
