AUGUST 3 – Dave Mayersky/Upstage Music Fest: The fifth annual Upstage Music Fest takes place early this month over three days: August 7-9. Fest organizer Dave Mayersky joins us via phone to discuss this year’s Fest, and will give us the lowdown on all three days, including headlining acts for each day plus the other bands and artists appearing, plus camping, food and other vendors, ticket packages and more. Plus listen to find out how you can possibly win one of two sets of tickets that will enable you to attend any or all three days of Upstage!
AUGUST 10 – Billy Davis: Dubois-based singer and songwriter Billy Davis makes his first visit to the “Homegrown Rocker” studio! We’ll discuss Billy’s beginnings and career, his creative process, live show and more! We’ll hear songs off Billy’s forthcoming debut album, plus he’ll bring an acoustic guitar and play a couple of songs live for us!
AUGUST 17 – The American Mood: Originally from Altoona, The American Mood husband-and-wife duo of Chanz and Paula Hale relocated to and spent a number of years performing on the Nashville circuit, before returning back to the Altoona area a few years ago. We’ll get to know this popular musical duo and learn their story, and we’ll hear several of their original songs along the way!
AUGUST 24 – Mike Hype/Homegrown Music & Community Festival: The 6th annual Homegrown Music & Community Festival will take place on Saturday, Sept. 6 at People’s Natural Gas Park in Johnstown, raising money for several Johnstown area charities. One of the event’s organizers, Mike Hype, will join us to discuss this year’s event. Along the way, we will hear music from several of the performers!
AUGUST 31 – Local Music Live in Concert Special! If you like live music, you’ll dig this special, as we fill this week’s two hours with live performance footage from a wide variety of local and regional PA performers! Hear live performances from Felix & the Hurricanes, The Clarks, Jim Donovan & the Sun King Warriors, Take The Hit, Sweet Desire, Nowhere Wolves, Anthrophobia, Pure Cane Sugar, Eric Ian Farmer and many more! Some “Local Music Flashback” live performance footage as well!
