PA Lawmakers Look To Ban Phones At Schools

Pennsylvania lawmakers are looking to introduce legislation that would ban phones from schools.  The lawmakers say this is an attempt to combat mental distress and mental health decline in children, which is caused by widespread access to smartphones and social media apps.  They also believe this legislation would improve academic performance. The three Senators who are planning to introduce the legislation include Republican Devlin Robinson, and Democrats Vincent Hughes and Steven Santarsiero.  If enacted, Pennsylvania would join 27 other states in restricting phone usage in schools.
