police-lights-2

State police report that a Huntingdon County man is behind bars after an early morning police chase yesterday that ended when he crashed into a tree with two young children in the backseat of his truck.  Police say 40-year-old David Rickabaugh Jr., of Robertsdale, has been accused of being under the influence of drugs when he led police on a high speed chase near Broad Top Borough.  The chase reportedly began when police attempted to stop a pickup truck that had no working rear lights.  Police caught up with the truck after it crashed into a tree.  Police report a female passenger, and two children ages 2 and 11, then exited the vehicle.  Reportedly, Rickabaugh was fleeing from police because of a prior warrant.  He is facing charges that include child endangerment, DUI, and numerous traffic violations.  He has been placed in the Huntingdon County Prison where bail has been set at $150,000.  He faces a preliminary hearing on August 27th.
